Bio

Suruchi Pawar (she/her)

I’m an independent art+culture consultant based in India (Bhopal/Mumbai), supporting translational artists/collectives. I came into this work through instinct and experimentation, not formal training, and I’m constantly learning on the go. Since 2024, I’ve been collaborating with Stage Rabbit, a curatorial and strategic initiative with Aishwarya Kumar that supports diasporic performance and reimagines the ecology of cultural practice itself. I continue to deepen my engagement with cultural critique as a way to sharpen how I work, think, and support others – to imagine alternate ways of practising cultural work beyond extractive models.

I also draw with ink on paper—mostly for myself.

Focus Areas for Exploration

I’m excited to explore non-linear critique, feminist myth-making, and anti-colonial knowledge-making that foreground care, repair, and civic responsibility beyond Western frames.

I want to develop accessible-yet-complex articulations around ethical praxis, public space, and co-opted language — and deepen how I support artists and cultural organisations through lived, collective, embodied inquiry.

I’ve also chosen to engage with Tabita Rezaire’s exploration of healing technologies, ancestral intelligence, and quantum interfaces to challenge my resistance to metaphysical frameworks — opening to epistemologies and modes of sense-making I’ve struggled to access. Ruangrupa’s collective practice and slow pedagogy resonates — I hope to reimagine critique as collaborative and non-hierarchical.
