Current Practice
Independent media maker, based in Noida.
Bio
I am a multimedia creative oscillating between tree twigs and cement walls. Currently, I am looking to wear off my old skin and experimenting with newer media and forms, and trying to understand the craft of things through making.
For the last two years, I boxed myself in the making of corporate style-guides, at the cost of my own style. Currently, I am spending days (and nights), trying to dig into different clays and glazes. This, in the attempt of going (getting) (coming) (walking) (slithering) (searching) (looking) (breathing) (becoming) (holding) (making) back.
I love, and have loved exploring and experimenting with, image, textiles, film, sound, words, clay. I have, in the past, worked professionally on moving and still image making, documentary form, and writing. I love when I lose myself to the material I am working with, whichever it may be.
Focus Areas for Exploration
Through the program, I wish to break what hasn’t worked for me and inject newer enquiries in my practice of seeing, thinking and creating.
I would like to understand and break the hierarchies of perceived and made objects, and to blur the subject, so it is not as defined and correct and sell-able as we are pushed to make it.
I want to get lost, so I could find something.
