Bio
Red Sales (he/him) is a video essayist and video artist who explores abstract storytelling and experimentation in audio-visual form.
His fascination with cinematic space, materiality, and texture is an offshoot of his professional background in architecture. Red practices filmmaking, film criticism, and film programming to uphold alternative cinema.
He also does this with Kinoise, a grassroots film collective that organizes events and produces creative works to engage with the film community.
Focus Areas for Exploration
I’m excited about reimagining art through alternative lenses that critique the dominant modes of criticism itself.
I’m interested in learning about how deconstructions of reality through radically speculative frameworks may still be applied in successful communal praxis.
