Bio
Daria Knurenko (she/her) is a student at the University of Pennsylvania, poet, and translator. Her main academic interests are comparative literature and history of art, through which she explores her fascination with language and symbols.
She’s also passionate about using literary translation as a means to create connection between people and cultures. As a poet, she uses her personal practice to delve into the topics of memory, displacement, and the interconnected systems of the environment.
Focus Areas for Exploration
As someone from a multilingual region who has also experienced displacement, I aim to explore how both language and symbols can bring humanity closer to unity during my time with the Young Critics Program. I am especially interested in literary translation as a means to this end.
