Yash Sawant
Born in Goa-India, in 1997, Yash Sawant has a background in Painting. His paintings have been publicly exhibited in Art galleries in Goa numerous times from 2013 to 2015. He dropped out of Bachelors in Fine Arts Painting in 2015 to learn and devote all his time to self-studying Cinema. Soon he DP’d on a Konkani feature film in 2016 called ‘Welcome Millions’ and also ended up editing the film after a couple of editors were replaced. A Cold Summer Night (2018) is his debut short film as a writer/director which he also shot, edited and colour graded. The 21min short had its World Premiere at the 71st Locarno Film Festival 2018 and was nominated for the prestigious Golden Leopard in the ‘Pardi di Domani’ International Competition section. Yash also works as a cinematographer and has shot narrative short films like ‘Bare’ & ‘Before I Sleep’. Currently, he is developing his first feature film ‘Dawn of Threnody’.
