Maharshi Tuhin Kashyap is a noted practicing film-maker from Assam, India who is credited for his deeply rooted and rare aesthetic way of storytelling in fiction-cinema, documentaries, theatre, advertisements, audio drama and other forms. Owing to his nurturing at Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute ,Kolkata (SRFTI) where he has done 3 year- Post Graduate-course in Direction and Screenplay Writing , Kashyap has been able gain attention because of his hard hitting and evocative sense of dealing with films. His works have been recognized all over the world throughout his career of 5 years. His works have been screened all over the world and have been awarded at many places. His works have also been featured in a number of well known newspapers and journals.

Looking at the tenderness and complexities of life in a colourful frame and presenting it as a reflection of the society in its truest form is what Kashyap strives and has over time successfully achieved it. He brings with him vigour and youth and places on the table a vivid understanding of realities of existence. His works have shined across the world primarily because he talks about the local ideas and stories of northeast India with world-class finesse.
