Agenda
Our agenda at Sphere revolves around pluralistic participation and research-based socially impactful initiatives. We actively seek to engage diverse communities, recognizing that cultural production thrives when multiple perspectives converge. We create spaces for dialogue and collaboration, inviting artists, thinkers, researchers, and community members to actively participate in shaping our cultural initiatives. This aligns with Carpentier’s (2018) call for inclusivity in cultural initiatives to ensure a more democratic and representative cultural landscape.
Research plays a significant role in our agenda. We recognize the importance of evidence-based practices and informed decision-making. By embracing a research-oriented approach, we strive to stay at the forefront of cultural innovation, informed by theoretical frameworks, empirical studies, and critical analysis. This resonates with the transformative potential of cultural research highlighted by Pratt (2008), who posits that cultural research can drive social change by revealing power dynamics, challenging established norms, and offering alternative perspectives.
Through our socially impactful initiatives, we aim to address pressing social, environmental, and political challenges. By leveraging the power of art and culture, we seek to catalyze positive change and contribute to the well-being of communities. Our initiatives are grounded in rigorous research and informed by the specific needs and aspirations of the communities we engage with. By combining research-driven practices with a focus on social impact, we demonstrate our commitment to creating meaningful change through cultural interventions.
